1 Security cable slot - Attaches a commercially available antitheft device to the computer. NOTE: Before you buy an antitheft device, ensure that it works with the security cable slot on your computer. 2 HDMI Connector - HDMI (High‑Definition Multimedia Interface) connector carries an uncompressed all digital signal to produce hi-definition video and audio. 3 VGA connector - Connects to a monitor or projector. 4 Network connector - If you are using a cabled network, this port connects your computer to a network or broadband device. Using Your Studio Laptop 5 USB 2.0 connector - Connects to USB devices, such as a mouse, keyboard, printer, external drive, or MP3 player. 6 eSATA Connector - Connects to eSATA compatible storage devices, such as external hard disk drives or optical drives. 7 IEEE 1394 connector - Connects to high-speed serial multimedia devices, such as digital video cameras. 8 Audio In/ Microphone connector - Connects to a microphone or inputs signal for use with audio programs. 9 Audio Out/ Headphone connectors (2) - Connects one or two pairs of headphones, or sends audio to a powered speaker or sound system. The audio signal is the same for both connectors. 17
