DSP surround simulation 1 Select the surround mode for the input channel. DIRECT STEREO SURROUND MODE DOLBY / DTS SURROUND 5CH / 7CH STEREO DSP SIMULATION (Main unit) DOLBY / DTS SURROUND DIRECT DSP SIMULATION 5CH / 7CH STEREO STEREO (Remote control unit) The surround mode switches in the following order each time the DSP SIMULATION button is pressed: WIDE SCREEN SUPER STADIUM ROCK ARENA JAZZ CLUB MATRIX CLASSIC CONCERT MONO MOVIE 31 1 3 VOLUME DISC SKIP+ DOLBY / DTS HOME THX CINEMA SURROUND DIRECT DSP SIMULATION 5CH / 7CH STEREO STEREO INPUT MODE ANALOG EXT.IN MASTER VOL. AUDIO DECK MD CD MULTI MUTING AVR/AVC VIDEO TUNING DVD TV VDP VCR SYSTEM SETUP SURROUND PARAMETER BAND MODE MEMORY TITLE MENU/GUIDE CH SELECT ENTER SELECT STATUS ON SCREEN DISPLAY RETURN USE/LEARN T.TONE MULTI SPEAKER DVD SET UP 2,4 2 SURROUND PARAMETER MENU/GUIDE Display the surround parameter screen on the monitor. The screen for the selected surround mode appears. 3 (Remote control unit) 6.1 / 7.1 SURROUND Set the parameters. The 6.1 and 7.1 Surround parameter can be operated directly using the buttons on the main unit's panel. (Main unit) 4 SURROUND PARAMETER MENU/GUIDE To end the setting mode, press the surround parameter button again. NOTES: • When "Default" is selected and the cursor button is pressed, "CINEMA EQ." and "D.COMP." are automatically turned off, "ROOM SIZE" is set to "medium", "EFFECT LEVEL" to "10" and "DELAY TIME" to "30ms". • The "ROOM SIZE" expresses the expansion effect for the different surround modes in terms of the size of the sound field, not the actual size of the listening room. 54
