Be sure that the 500-Sheet Lower Cassette Unit is properly installed and that you have not tried to load it with too many sheets of paper. The cassette can hold a maximum of 500 sheets of 75g/m² (20lb) paper. The 500-Sheet Lower Cassette Unit may not be installed properly. See Chapter 2, "Using Options," for instructions on installing the 500-Sheet Lower Cassette Unit. To solve your particular problem open the EPSON Status Monitor 3, find the trouble and solve the problem. For Macintosh users, the EPSON Status Monitor 3 automatically appears when a problem occurs with your printer, if background printing is on. A communication error has occurred The printer may be turned off, check to see that your printer is turned on. If it is, then check the power cord to see if it is plugged into the electrical outlet. Then turn on the printer. The printer may be running a self-test or initializing itself. If this is the case, allow the computer enough time to finish initialization. Troubleshooting 4-19

The Status Alert Window in the EPSON Status Monitor 3 shows

particular problem open the EPSON Status Monitor 3, find the
