The default audio setting plays DVDs at a higher volume than other discs. You can adjust this setting if necessary. ■ To adjust the DVD level, press . Continue pressing the button to select the level you prefer: DVD LEVEL 1, DVD LEVEL 2, or DVD LEVEL 3 (the highest volume and default setting). ■ To adjust the settings in the Audio Setup menu, follow these steps: 1. Press the button on the remote control. 2. Press to highlight and display the AUDIO Setup menu. 3. Press to highlight the setting you want, then press the options. to display 4. Press to select the option you want, then press You can choose from the following: to save it. DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT: Select the appropriate setting when you use external audio equipment connected to the Optical Audio-Out port. ■ STREAM/PCM: For a DTS/Dolby Digital Decoder or surround sound system (default setting). ■ PCM ONLY: For equipment that is only compliant with Linear PCM (Pulse Coded Modulation). ■ DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM: For a Dolby Digital Decoder or similar equipment. DOWN MIX: Select the signal from the Optical Audio-Out port, built-in speakers, and headphone jack. ■ DOLBY SURROUND: For connecting to equipment with a built-in Dolby Pro-Logic decoder or using the built-in speakers or headphones (default setting). ■ STEREO: For connecting to standard equipment. D. RANGE COMPRESSION: Select the appropriate setting for the best DVD volume control. ■ ON: Dynamic range compression is on at all times (default setting). ■ AUTO: Dynamic range compression is selected automatically.
