Note: After you disconnect your external equipment, make sure you close MovieMate's port compartment cover. Adjusting the Audio from External Devices You can use all of MovieMate's audio controls, as described on pages 31 and 32. You can also adjust the volume input level by pressing and holding the button for approximately 2 seconds. LEVEL 1 appears on MovieMate's display window. Press and hold the button again to select LEVEL 2 and increase the volume. Using an External Audio System or Digital Audio Recorder You can connect MovieMate to an AV amplifier, surround sound system, or digital audio recorder. To output sound from MovieMate, the external equipment needs to have an optical audio input port. You will also need an optical digital cable, which may be provided with your external equipment, or may be purchased from an electronics store. 1. Remove the protective cap from the Optical Audio-Out port as shown below. 2. Make sure the equipment is turned off, then connect the cable as shown: Digital audio recorder AV amplifier Optical digital cable You may need to adjust the volume or change the Digital Audio Output or Downmix settings in the Audio Setup menu. See page 32 for more information. Make sure you use the Stream/PCM setting for surround sound systems.
