Review the charts on the following pages first and you may not need to call for service. Problem Top burners do not light or do not burn evenly. (The front-right burner is designed to have slightly smaller flames between the 6 and 9 o'clock positions. This is normal.) Possible Causes Plug on range is not completely inserted in the electrical outlet. Burner slits on the side of the burner may be clogged. Improper burner assembly. What To Do • Make sure electrical plug is plugged into a live, properly grounded outlet. • Remove the burners and clean them. Check the electrode area for burned-on food or grease. See the Care and cleaning of the range section. • If range is connected to LP gas, contact the person who installed your range or made the conversion. • To check the oven gas shut-off valve, remove the drawer (see the Care and cleaning of the range section). For lower oven drawer models, remove the rear access panel by unscrewing the thumbscrews in the upper left and right corners. Look for the gas shut-off lever at the back of the range.
