5. Insert a keyboard removal tool into the top cover/keyboard rear screw holes and press until the top cover/ keyboard rear edge disengages from the base enclosure. 6. Position the computer with the base enclosure resting on the work surface. 7. Swing the rear edge of the top cover/keyboard (1) up and away from the computer as far as the keyboard and touchpad cables allow. 8. Release the zero insertion force (ZIF) connector (2) to which the keyboard cable is connected, and then disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board. 9. Release the ZIF connector (3) to which the touchpad cable is connected, and then disconnect the touchpad cable from the system board. 10. Remove the top cover/keyboard (4).
