Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 29). 2. Remove the top cover/keyboard (see Top cover/keyboard on page 29). Remove the touchpad: 1. Position the top cover/keyboard upside down with the front toward you. 2. Detach the touchpad cable (1) from the top cover/keyboard. (The touchpad cable is attached to the top cover/keyboard with double-sided adhesive.) 3. Detach the clear shield (2) that covers the touchpad screws. 4. Remove the three Phillips M2.0 × 2.2 broad head screws (3) that secure the touchpad to the computer. 5. Remove the four Phillips M2.0 × 2.5 screws (4) that secure the touchpad bracket and touchpad to the computer. ENWW Component replacement procedures 33

Remove the touchpad:
1.
Position the top cover/keyboard upside down with the front toward you.
2.
Detach the touchpad cable

from the top cover/keyboard. (The touchpad cable is attached to the top
cover/keyboard with double-sided adhesive.)
3.
Detach the clear shield

4.
Remove the three Phillips M2.0 × 2.2 broad head screws
