Removing the Crossbar Module Fan Tray The crossbar module fan tray is designed to be removed and replaced while the system is operating without presenting an electrical hazard or damage to the system, provided the replacement is performed promptly. The crossbar module fan tray is used only in the Cisco MDS 9513 Director. It is installed at the rear of the chassis and plugs into the back side of the midplane just above the crossbar modules. To remove a crossbar module fan tray, follow these steps: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Loosen the two captive screws on the fan tray. Hold the two captive screws and pull the fan tray out of the chassis using both hands. Take one hand and hold the face of the fan tray while supporting it with the other hand.
