Hard drive NOTE: The hard drive spare part kit includes left and right bracket rails, a connector cable, Mylar cover with tab, and 4 rubber isolators. Description Spare part number 500-GB, 5400-rpm 516350-001 320-GB, 7200-rpm 516349-001 320-GB, 5400-rpm 516346-001 250-GB, 7200-rpm 516348-001 250-GB, 5400-rpm 516345-001 Hard Drive Hardware Kit (includes left and right bracket rails, connector cable, Mylar cover with 517639-001 tab, and 4 rubber isolators) Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 43). 5. Remove the primary hard drive cover (see Primary hard drive cover on page 45) NOTE: Remove the secondary hard drive cover (see Secondary hard drive cover on page 46) when removing the secondary hard drive. Remove the hard drive: 1. Use the Mylar tab (1) to slide the hard drive to the left (2), and then lift it to release it from the hard drive bay. 2. Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.

NOTE:

when removing the secondary hard drive.
Remove the hard drive:
1.
Use the Mylar tab

to slide the hard drive to the left
