WWAN module To remove the WWAN module, use this procedure and illustration. Table 5-4 WWAN module descriptions and part numbers Description Intel XMM 7560 R + LTE-Advanced Pro WWAN (Cat 16) Spare part number M52040-001 IMPORTANT: To prevent an unresponsive system, replace the wireless module only with a wireless module authorized for use in the computer by the governmental agency that regulates wireless devices in your country or region. If you replace the module and then receive a warning message, remove the module to restore device functionality, and then contact technical support. Before removing the WWAN module, follow these steps: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 41). 2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 41). 3. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 51). Remove the WWAN module: 1. Remove the plastic that covers the antennas. 2. Disconnect the WWAN antenna cables (1) from the terminals on the WWAN module. The number of antenna cables can vary. 3. Remove the Phillips M2.0 × 2.5 screw (2) that secures the WWAN module to the bottom cover. (The WWAN module tilts up.) 4. Remove the WWAN module (3) by pulling the module away from the slot at an angle. NOTE: When you look at the antenna terminals from the top of the module, the white WWAN antenna cable connects to the terminal to the left of the black WWAN antenna cables. WWAN module 47

Before removing the WWAN module, follow these steps:
1.
Prepare the computer for disassembly (see

).
2.
Remove the bottom cover (see

41
).
3.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see
Battery
on page
51
).
Remove the WWAN module:
1.
Remove the plastic that covers the antennas.
2.
Disconnect the WWAN antenna cables
(1)
from the terminals on the WWAN module. The number of
antenna cables can vary.
3.
Remove the Phillips M2.0 × 2.5 screw
(2)
that secures the WWAN module to the bottom cover. (The
WWAN module tilts up.)
4.
Remove the WWAN module
(3)
by pulling the module away from the slot at an angle.
NOTE:
When you look at the antenna terminals from the top of the module, the white WWAN antenna
cable connects to the terminal to the left of the black WWAN antenna cables.
