Fingerprint reader board Description Fingerprint reader board (includes cable) Spare part number 790074-001 Before removing the fingerprint reader board, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 32). 5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 56). Remove the fingerprint reader board: 1. Disconnect the cable from the system board (1). 2. Remove the Phillips PM2.0×2.0 broadhead screw (2) that secures the assembly to the computer. 3. Remove the bracket from atop the fingerprint reader board (3). The fingerprint reader bracket is available in the Bracket Kit using spare part number 800582-001. 4. Remove the fingerprint reader board and cable from the computer (4). Reverse this procedure to install the fingerprint reader board. Component replacement procedures 57

Before removing the fingerprint reader board, follow these steps:
1.

Remove the fingerprint reader board:
1.
Disconnect the cable from the system board

2.
Remove the Phillips PM2.0×2.0 broadhead screw

that secures the assembly to the computer.
3.
Remove the bracket from atop the fingerprint reader board

The fingerprint reader bracket is available in the Bracket Kit using spare part number 800582-001.
4.
Remove the fingerprint reader board and cable from the computer

Reverse this procedure to install the fingerprint reader board.
