Speakers Description Speakers (includes cables and 4 rubber isolators) Spare part number 924437-001 Before removing the speakers, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 27). 5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 34). Remove the speakers: 1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the hard drive cable is connected, and then disconnect the hard drive cable from the system board. 2. Detach the hard drive cable (2) from the system board. (The hard drive cable is attached to the system board with double-sided adhesive.) 3. Disconnect the speaker cable (3) from the system board. 4. Release the speaker cables (4) from the retention clips and routing channel built into the base enclosure. 5. Remove the three Phillips PM2.0×5.5 broad head shoulder screws (5) and Phillips PM2.0×6.2 broad head shoulder screw (6) that secure the speakers to the base enclosure. 38 Chapter 5 Removal and replacement procedures

Before removing the speakers, follow these steps:
1.

3.

Remove the speakers:
1.
Release the ZIF connector
(1)
to which the hard drive cable is connected, and then disconnect the hard
drive cable from the system board.
2.
Detach the hard drive cable

from the system board. (The hard drive cable is attached to the system
board with double-sided adhesive.)
3.
Disconnect the speaker cable
(3)
from the system board.
4.
Release the speaker cables

from the retention clips and routing channel built into the base enclosure.
5.
Remove the three Phillips PM2.0×5.5 broad head shoulder screws

and Phillips PM2.0×6.2 broad head
shoulder screw

that secure the speakers to the base enclosure.
