Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 27). 5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 34). 6. Remove the speakers (see Speakers on page 38). When replacing the system board, be sure to remove the following components from the defective system board and install them on the replacement system board: ● WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 45) ● Heat sink (see Heat sink on page 46) ● Memory modules (see Memory module on page 50) Remove the system board: 1. Disconnect the following cables from the system board: (1) Power button board ZIF connector cable (2) Display panel ZIF connector cable (3) WLAN antenna cables NOTE: The #1/white WLAN antenna cable connects to the WLAN module "#1/Main" terminal. The #2/ black WLAN antenna cable connects to the WLAN module "#2/Aux" terminal. (4) Speaker cable 42 Chapter 5 Removal and replacement procedures
