USB board Description USB board (includes cable) Spare part number 639452-001 Before removing the USB board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 48), and then remove the following components: ● Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 49) ● Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 51) ● Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 56) ● Top cover (see Top cover on page 59) Remove the USB board: 1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the USB board cable is connected, and then disconnect the USB board cable (2) from the system board. 2. Remove the Phillips PM2.5×6.0 screw (3) that secures the USB board to the base enclosure. 3. Remove the USB board (4) and cable. Reverse this procedure to install the USB board. 70 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures
