It has a full duplex codec, and supports a volume control on the front panel. Drivers for the audio board, working with the Windows NT operating system, are supplied with the computer. These are required since the board is Plugand-Play, but the operating system is not. It is the user's responsibility to avoid conflicts with other devices using the same resources (such as IRQ, DMA and I/O lines). The user can use the configuration manager to change the board settings, choosing either the default configuration, or changes to any of the parameters. Windows for Workgroups 3.11 drivers rely on ICU and its configuration manager, which must be installed. Windows 95 is a true Plug-and-Play operating system, and does not need such drivers. 56
