Installing and Configuring Enhanced DFS 3.0 Handling of setuid Programs and Device Files in DFS NAME cm sethardmount - Specifies whether hard mount semantics are in effect for the specified or current fileset. SYNOPSIS cm sethardmount [-path {file|dir}] [-state {on/off}] [-help] Hard mount semantics have the same meanings as NFS hard mount semantics. Operations on hard mounted filesets wait for completion by the server. They do not timeout and return an ETIMEDOUT error if the server is not available. Instead, they wait until the server is back online and the interrupted operation has completed. Thus, if a server goes down during a long (that is, over night) series of operations, the programs complete when the server comes back online, rather than needing to be restarted. OPTIONS -path {file | dir} Names a file or directory from each fileset whose hard mount status information is to be changed. If this option is omitted, the status is changed for the fileset containing the current working directory. -state Specifies whether hard mount semantics for the indicated filesets are provided by the Cache Manager. Specify on with this option to provide hard mount semantics for the indicated filesets; specify off with this option to disable hard mount semantics for the indicated filesets. If this option is omitted, hard mount semantics are provided for the indicated filesets (the command has no effect if hard mount semantics were already being provided) -help Prints the online help for this command. All other valid options specified with option are ignored. 41
