Access panel To remove the component: 1. Power down the server blade and remove it from the server blade enclosure ("Server blade preparation" on page 11). 2. Loosen the thumbscrew. 3. Press down on the thumb indentations, slide the access panel toward the rear of the unit about 1.25 cm (0.5 in), and lift to remove the panel. To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure. Hard drives To install the component: CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all bays are populated with either a component or a blank. 1. Removal and replacement procedures

Access panel
To remove the component:
1.
Power down the server blade and remove it from the server blade enclosure ("

).
2.
Loosen the thumbscrew.
3.
Press down on the thumb indentations, slide the access panel toward the rear of the unit about 1.25
cm (0.5 in), and lift to remove the panel.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
Hard drives
To install the component:
