6.3.2.9.5 Security Set Password [F1h] This command requests a transfer of a single sector of data from the host. The following table defines the content of this sector of information. The data transferred controls the function of this command. The revision code field is returned in the Identify Device word 92. The valid revision codes are 0000h to FFFDh. The initial factory shipped value of Master Password Revision code shall be FFFEh. Value FFFFh is revised. Word 0 1-16 17 18 - 255 Contents Control Word Bit 15-9Reserved Bit 8 Security Level 0 = High 1 = Maximum Bit 7 Reserved Bit 0 Identifier 0 = Set user password 1 = Set master password Password(32bytes) Mater Password Revision Code (Valid if word 0 bit 0 = 1) Reserved The following table defines the interaction of the identifier and security level bits. Identifier User User Master Security Level High Maximum High or Maximum Command Result The password supplied with the command shall be saved as the new user password. The lock function shall be enabled from the next power-on or hardware reset. Either the user password or the previously set master password shall then unlock the device. The password supplied with the command shall be saved as the new user password. The lock function shall be enabled from the next power-on or hardware reset. The device shall then be unlocked by only the user password. The master password previously set is still stored in the device but shall not be used to unlock the device. This combination shall set a master password but shall not enable or disable the lock function. The security level is not changed. Master password revision code set to the value in Master Password Revision Code field. Device returns Aborted command error if the device is in Locked mode or Frozen mode.
