An alert box appears telling you that you must save your settings and reboot the computer for the new security choice to take effect. 4 Tap Yes. The computer resets and starts with Microsoft Security as the Security Choice. Configure WPA or WPA2 Enterprise (802.1x) Security With Microsoft Use these procedures to set WPA-802.1x security on your computer with Microsoft security. 1 Make sure the communications and radio parameters on your computer are configured. 2 Tap Start > Control Panel > Network Connections. The Network Connections screen appears. 3 Tap and hold onto the Wireless Network Connection icon until the Properties screen appears and select Configure. 4 Select the wireless connection you want to configure and tap the Properties button. 5 For Network Authentication, choose WPA or WPA2 and select TKIP or AES. The Encryption type automatically defaults to AES. 6 Tap the Authentication tab and choose, choose either PEAP or Smart Card or other certificate. 7 Tap the Properties button. 8 Select Validate server certificate. 9 Select a root certificate or load a root certificate of the authentication server on your computer. For help, see "Load a Certificate" on page 58. 10 Tap OK to exit the Properties screen. 11 Tap OK again to save the Microsoft Security settings.
