Phone Basics When you place an emergency 911 call, the GPS feature of your phone begins to seek information to calculate your approximate location. Depending on several variables, including availability and access to satellite signals, it may take 30 seconds or more to determine and report your approximate location. IMPORTANT: Always report your location to the 911 operator when placing anemergencycall. Some designated emergency call takers, known as Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) may not be equipped to receive GPS location information from your phone. In-Call Options While a call is in progess, a list of options is displayed that you may use during the call. To select an option, highlight the option and press . The following options are available: ⅷ Mute or Unmute to mute your microphone, or to unmute the microphone if it was muted earlier. ⅷ Speaker On or Speaker Off routes the phone's audio through the speaker or through the earpiece. Ⅲ Select SpeakerOn to route the phone's audio through the speaker. (You can adjust the speaker volume using the volume keys on the side of the phone.) Ⅲ Select Speaker Off to use the phone's earpiece. Warning! Due to higher volume levels, do not place the phone near your ear during speakerphone use. ⅷ 3-Way Call to set up a three-way conversation. ⅷ Contacts to access the Contacts menu. ⅷ Recent Calls to access the Recent Calls list. ⅷ Send Message to send a text message. ⅷ RecordVoice Memo to record the current conversation.
