4227-300 5. Preventive maintenance This chapter describes procedures for preventive maintenance for the printer. Following these recommendations can help prevent problems and maintain optimum performance. Lubrication Warning: Petroleum-based lubricants can attack polycarbonate parts, causing premature failure. Use only mineral oil-based lubricant. The following parts should be lubricated when replaced: • Oil felt (carrier block) • Tractor unit • Side frame (left) • Side frame (right) • Pinch roller (lower) • Pinch roller spring (left) • Pinch roller spring (center) • Pinch roller spring (right) • Paper separator Specified lubricants • Oil-P/N 1280443 • Approved equivalents: - Mobil DTE27 - Shell Tellus 100 - Fuchs Renolin MR30 • Grease-P/N 6934659 • Approved equivalent: Mobil 28 Preventive maintenance 5-1
