Solutions 48 Solutions Lexmark offers various solutions that extend the capabilities of the device, often enhancing the security of the device or the customer environment Intelligent Storage Drive With the 2022 new product announcements, the Intelligent Storage Drive (ISD) is a solid-state flash storage option for Lexmark devices that provides solutions previously offered through card solutions. This updated storage option performs like a traditional magnetic hard drive with most solutions delivered at no cost to Lexmark customers with ISD installed. For organizations that prefer to use traditional hard drive technology, the storage portion of ISD can be disabled when a traditional hard drive is installed so users can continue to leverage the card functionality. The ISD storage option also offers a secure cryptographic erase for extra peace of mind. This means that the hard drive encryption key is destroyed, preventing access to sensitive data. For even greater security, ISD can be combined with the TPM to protect against insider threats and malicious attacks. The TPM provides enhanced encryption capabilities to the ISD and is used to securely store ISD encryption keys on separate hardware from the data they protect. ISD delivers powerful functionality designed to simplify solution installation with no hardware required: • Enables enhanced access to features that are freely available with ISD installation that previously required a card solution purchase. • Delivers greater capabilities with modern storage technology that is faster and more energy‑efficient. • Simplifies installation with a new, more efficient way to install multiple card solutions. • Requires an ISD and an electronic license for IPDS and Bar Code functions. • Supports double byte character set (DBCS) font and CVS fonts for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and Hebrew. • Includes forms, formsmerge and prescribe support, and magnetic ink character recognition (MICR) as a standard feature with ISD. Lockable Tray Various Lexmark models support an optional lockable tray that can be used to secure sensitive media.

device or the customer environment
Intelligent Storage Drive
With the 2022 new product announcements, the Intelligent Storage Drive (ISD) is a solid-state flash storage
option for Lexmark devices that provides solutions previously offered through card solutions. This updated
storage option performs like a traditional magnetic hard drive with most solutions delivered at no cost to
Lexmark customers with ISD installed.
For organizations that prefer to use traditional hard drive technology, the storage portion of ISD can be disabled
when a traditional hard drive is installed so users can continue to leverage the card functionality.
The ISD storage option also offers a secure cryptographic erase for extra peace of mind. This means that the
hard drive encryption key is destroyed, preventing access to sensitive data. For even greater security, ISD can
be combined with the TPM to protect against insider threats and malicious attacks. The TPM provides enhanced
encryption capabilities to the ISD and is used to securely store ISD encryption keys on separate hardware from
the data they protect.
ISD delivers powerful functionality designed to simplify solution installation with no hardware required:
Enables enhanced access to features that are freely available with ISD installation that previously required
a card solution purchase.
Delivers greater capabilities with modern storage technology that is faster and more energy
efficient.
Simplifies installation with a new, more efficient way to install multiple card solutions.
Requires an ISD and an electronic license for IPDS and Bar Code functions.
Supports double byte character set (DBCS) font and CVS fonts for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and
Hebrew.
Includes forms, formsmerge and prescribe support, and magnetic ink character recognition (MICR) as a
standard feature with ISD.
Lockable Tray
Various Lexmark models support an optional lockable tray that can be used to secure sensitive media.
