Shooting Suited for the Scene Shooting in Scene Mode Features x Scene auto selector By simply framing a picture, the camera automatically selects the optimum scene mode. See "Shooting in the Scene Mode Selected by the Camera (Scene Auto Selector)" (A 40) for more information. m U1 n Off2 p Off3 o 0.02 1 The camera automatically selects the optimum flash mode setting for the scene mode it has selected. Can be changed to W. 2 Other settings can be selected. 3 Changed to On when the camera selects Close-up scene mode. b Portrait Use this mode for portraits in which the main subject stands out clearly. Portrait subjects exhibit smooth, natural-looking skin tones. • The camera detects and focuses on a face looking toward the camera. See "Face Priority" (A 102) for more information. • If the camera detects a smiling face of the subject, the smile indicator increases or decreases. • If more than one face is recognized, focus will be on the face nearest to the camera. • If no faces are recognized, focus will be on the center of the screen. • Digital zoom is not available. 18 Smile indicator m V* n Off* p Off o 0.0* * Other settings can be selected.
