Basic Camera Setup: The Setup Menu g Vibration reduction Vibration reduction effectively corrects blur that commonly occurs when shooting with zooming or at slow shutter speeds. Vibration reduction can be used in all shooting modes. Turn vibration reduction off when using a tripod to stabilize the camera during shooting. On (default setting) Vibration reduction is enabled during shooting. Off Electronic vibration reduction is not enabled. The vibration reduction setting can be confirmed on the monitor during shooting (See "The vibration reduction / motion detection icon" (A 21)). Wait until the display stabilizes before shooting. • Due to characteristics of the vibration reduction function, images displayed on the camera's monitor immediately after shooting may appear blurry. • Vibration reduction may be unable to completely eliminate the effects of camera shaking in some situations. • "VR" stands for vibration reduction. 123

Vibration reduction
Vibration reduction effectively corrects blur that commonly occurs when shooting
with zooming or at slow shutter speeds. Vibration reduction can be used in all
shooting modes.
Turn vibration reduction
off
when using a tripod to stabilize the camera during
shooting.
The vibration reduction setting can be confirmed on the monitor during shooting
(See “The vibration reduction / motion detection icon” (

21)).
