Chapter 6 White Balance Color reproduction differs depending on the lighting conditions. For instance, when daylight, the setting sun, or indoor lighting are reflected on white paper, the shade of white produced will be slightly different for each. By setting the WB (white balance), you can achieve more natural-looking color. In the top menu, select MODE MENU T PICTURE T WB, then select the best WB (AUTO, PRESET, ) for your shooting conditions. AUTO (auto white balance) Automatically adjusts the white balance for any light source. PRESET (preset white balance) Choose from four white balance settings depending on the type of light: :Daylight :Overcast :Tungsten :Fluorescent You can also view the various tones of color by trying different PRESET WB settings from the actual light source, and confirming the result on the monitor. PRESET WB screen PRESET WB CANCEL SELECT GO (One-Touch white balance) This function is useful when you need more precise white balance than PRESET WB can give.
