INTRODUCTION Thank you very much for purchasing the Pentax compact camera. This is a full automatic compact camera with AUTO FOCUS and DX SYSTEM, Before attempting to use the camera, be sure to read this instruction manual thoroughly to familiarize yourself with the correct operation and to ensure full and lasting performances. INSTALLING BATTERIES This camera is powered by two AA size penlight batteries. Be sure to use two fresh ALKALINE batteries. DO NOT USE NICAD BATTERIES. 1. Open the battery compartment cover (15) by sliding the cover in the direction of the arrow. (Fig. 1) 2. Insert the batteries correctly as shown by the polarity marks labeled inside the battery compartment and close the cover. (Fig. 2) (BATTERY CHECK) Slide the flash lever (6) upward to "ON". If the flash-ready lamp comes on within a few seconds, it means that the batteries are good. If it takes more than 30 seconds, replace the batteries with new ones. 0 " •• 1 3 3 0 .amco tt o 2
