ENGLISH Advanced Techniques FLASH SELECT ✤ The FLASH SELECT function works in CAMERA mode only. ✤ s Auto : The Flash automatically strobes when the surroundings are s dark enough. s RED-EYE REDUCTION : Using the flash to take pictures in dark surroundings may cause red-eye to occur. Using the RED-EYE s REDUCTION setting, the flash pre-strobes before recording the picture to reduce the occurrence of red-eye . s SLOW SYNC : When the Shutter Speed is set to SLOW, the flash s strobes at the adjusted shutter speed. It is recommended to use a tripod when the shutter speed is set to SLOW. s FILL-IN FLASH : Forces the flash to strobe despite the light s condition. To get finer results, it is recommended to use the flash to take pictures, for example taking a picture of a dark object in the shade of a tree during daylight. s s OFF : Sets the flash not to strobe. It is recommended to set your flash not to strobe in public places like art galleries, museums, and theaters. 1. Set the device to CAMERA and the power switch to REC mode. 2. FLASH SELECT
The FLASH SELECT function works in CAMERA mode only.
Auto
: The Flash automatically strobes when the surroundings are
dark enough.
RED-EYE REDUCTION
: Using the flash to take pictures in dark
surroundings may cause red-eye to occur. Using the RED-EYE
REDUCTION setting, the flash pre-strobes before recording the
picture to reduce the occurrence of red-eye .
SLOW SYNC
: When the Shutter Speed is set to SLOW, the flash
strobes at the adjusted shutter speed. It is recommended to use a
tripod when the shutter speed is set to SLOW.
FILL-IN FLASH
: Forces the flash to strobe despite the light
condition. To get finer results, it is recommended to use the flash to
take pictures, for example taking a picture of a dark object in the
shade of a tree during daylight.
OFF
: Sets the flash not to strobe. It is recommended to set your
flash not to strobe in public places like art galleries, museums, and
theaters.
