8 - Remote operation : MIDI Control by the DM-4800 MIDI faders In this mode, the first 16 faders are used to transmit a defined Control Change message when the REMOTE fader layer mode is selected and the MIDI FADERS screen is displayed, or was the last external control screen displayed. 1 Select the MIDI FADERs option from the external control screen (Figure 8.3, External Control). 2 Set the Control Change message using the CONTROL setup screen (below at Figure 8.5, MIDI Faders setup screen) or in the ID field of the EXT. CTRL screen: MIDI Mixer This allows you to use the 24 faders, the MUTE keys, and the encoders (as pan controls) on the 16 different MIDI channels of a device connected to the MIDI OUT port. This may be used for older DAWs, or for plug-in control where HUI or Mackie Control emulation is not appropriate. The REMOTE fader layer must be selected and the MIDI MIXER screen must be displayed or be the last external control displayed. The MIDI Control Change messages transmitted by the fader are sent on the MIDI channel corresponding to the fader number. MIDI faders
In this mode, the first 16 faders are used to transmit a

mitted by the fader are sent on the MIDI
channel corresponding to the fader number.

MIDI Mixer
This allows you to use the 24 faders, the
