7. Push the chute control rod toward the control panel until the hole in the rod lines up with the hole in the chute control input closest to the chute control head and insert the cotter pin. See Fig. 3-12. NOTE: The second hole is used to achieve further engagement of the chute control rod into the pinion gear if required. Refer to page 19 for Chute Control Rod adjustments. Set-Up Shear Pins A pair of replacement auger shear pins and bow tie cotter pins are included with your snow thrower. Store them in your snow thrower's dash panel until needed. See Fig. 3-14. Figure 3-14 Figure 3-12 8. Finish securing chute control head to chute support bracket with wing nut, clevis pin, and bow-tie cotter pin removed in step 1. See Fig. 3-3. 9. Check that the cables are properly routed through the Chute Clean-Out Tool The chute clean-out tool is fastened to the top of the auger housing with a mounting clip and a cable tie at the factory. Cut the cable tie before operating the snow thrower. See Fig. 3-15. cable guide on top of the engine. Some models only have one cable to route through the cable guide. See Fig. 3-13.
