Printer Utilities Using the Apple Printer Utility to perform other tasks In addition to downloading PostScript files and fonts, you can use the Apple Printer Utility to perform the following specialized tasks: I Turning on/off the Startup Page I Changing the printer's AppleTalk name Note If your printer is connected through a print server, you can only use the Apple Printer Utility to download PostScript utility files. To turn on/off the Startup Page: 1. Double-click the Apple Printer Utility. 2. In the Printer Selector dialog box: a. Under AppleTalk Zones, select your printer's zone. b. Under Printers, select your Phaser 7700 printer. c. Click the Open Printer button. 3. In the printer's dialog box, click the arrow next to Printer Preferences to display a list of options. 4. Click the arrow next to Startup Page. 5. Click to either place or remove the check mark from the box: I Check mark: Prints a Startup Page each time the printer is turned on or reset. I No check mark: Stops the Startup Page from automatically printing. 6. Click the Send button to update this printer option. To change the printer's AppleTalk name: 1. Double-click the Apple Printer Utility. 2. In the Printer Selector dialog box: a. Under AppleTalk Zones, select your printer's zone. b. Under Printers, select your Phaser 7700 printer. c. Click the Open Printer button. 3. In the printer's dialog box, click the arrow next to Printer Preferences to display a list of options. 4. Click the arrow next to Name. 5. Using the Apple Printer Utility to perform other tasks
In addition to downloading PostScript files and fonts, you can use the
Apple Printer Utility
to perform the following specialized tasks:
Turning on/off the Startup Page
Changing the printer’s AppleTalk name
Note
If your printer is connected through a print server, you can only use the
Apple
Printer Utility
to download PostScript utility files.
To turn on/off the Startup Page:
1.
Double-click the
Apple Printer Utility
.
2.
In the
Printer Selector
dialog box:
a.
Under
AppleTalk Zones
, select your printer’s zone.
b.
Under
Printers
, select your Phaser 7700 printer.
c.
Click the
Open Printer
button.
3.
In the printer’s dialog box, click the arrow next to
Printer Preferences
to display a list
of options.
4.
Click the arrow next to
Startup Page
.
5.
Click to either place or remove the check mark from the box:
Check mark:
Prints a Startup Page each time the printer is turned on or reset.
No check mark:
Stops the Startup Page from automatically printing.
6.
Click the
Send
button to update this printer option.
To change the printer’s AppleTalk name:
1.
Double-click the
