Slide out the battery (8, fig. 155) from its housing and, always starting from the negative terminal (-), loosen the screws (9, fig. 155). Remove the positive cable (10, fig. 155), the ABS positive cable (11, fig. 155) from the positive terminal and the negative cable (12, fig. 155) from the negative terminal. 9 12 Warning The battery produces explosive gases: keep it away from heat sources. Warning Keep the battery out of the reach of children. Charge the battery at 0.9 A for 5 -10 hours. Charge the battery in a ventilated room. Connect the battery charger leads to the battery terminals: the red one to the positive terminal (+), the black one to the negative terminal (-). 8 10 11 fig. 155 Important Make sure the charger is off when you connect the battery to it, or you might get sparks at the battery terminals that could ignite the gases inside the cells. Remove the positive cable (10, fig. 155), the ABS
positive cable (11, fig. 155) from the positive terminal
and the negative cable (12, fig. 155) from the
negative terminal.
Warning
