A. Idle Adjusting Screw
Open and close the throttle a few times to make
sure the idle speed does not change, and readjust
if necessary.
With the engine idling, turn the handlebar both
ways and check if handlebar movement changes
the idle speed. If so, the throttle cable may be im-
properly adjusted, incorrectly routed, or damaged.
Be sure to correct any of these conditions before
riding.
WARNING
Operation with a damaged cable could re-
sult in an unsafe riding condition. Replace
a damaged control cable before operation.

Loosen the locknut.
Turn the clutch release adjusting screw counter-
clockwise until it becomes hard to turn, and then
back it out a quarter turn.

Tighten the locknut without changing the adjusting
screw position.
Tightening Torque
Clutch Adjusting Screw Locknut:
19 N·m (1.9 kgf·m, 14 ft·lb)
