MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT 63 Spark Arrester This vehicle is equipped with a spark arrester. It must be properly maintained to ensure its efficiency. In accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart, clean the spark arrester. the right side cover (see Air Cleaner sec• Remove tion). • Remove the screws and muffler cover. j NOTICE The spark arrester must be installed correctly and functioning properly to provide adequate fire protection. Spark Arrester Cleaning WARNING The muffler can become extremely hot during normal operation and cause severe burns. Spark Arrester
This vehicle is equipped with a spark arrester. It
must be properly maintained to ensure its efficiency.
In accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart,
clean the spark arrester.
NOTICE
The spark arrester must be installed cor-
rectly and functioning properly to provide
adequate fire protection.
Spark Arrester Cleaning
WARNING
The muffler can become extremely hot dur-
ing
normal
operation
and
cause
severe
burns.
Since the engine must be running
during this procedure, wear heat-resistant
gloves while cleaning the spark arrester.
•
Remove the right side cover (see Air Cleaner sec-
tion).
•
Remove the screws and muffler cover.
