MAINTENANCE Engine Oil Oil and Filter Change CAUTION Hot oil can cause serious burns to skin. Do not allow hot oil to come into contact with skin. Always change the oil and filter at the intervals outlined in the Periodic Maintenance Chart beginning on page 50. Always change the oil filter whenever changing oil. 1. Position the vehicle on a level surface. 2. Run the engine for two to three minutes until warm. Stop the engine. Drain 3. Clean the area around the Plug drain plug. 4. Place a drain pan beneath oil tank. Screen 5. Remove the drain plug. Fitting Sealing Allow the oil to drain comWasher pletely. 6. Install a new sealing washer on the drain plug. NOTE: The sealing surfaces on drain plug and oil tank should be clean and free of burrs, nicks or scratches. Orientation Mark 7. Reinstall the drain plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm). 58

Engine Oil
Oil and Filter Change
Always change the oil and filter at the intervals outlined in the Periodic
Maintenance Chart beginning on page 50. Always change the oil filter
whenever changing oil.
1.
Position the vehicle on a level
surface.
2.
Run the engine for two to
three minutes until warm.
Stop the engine.
3.
Clean the area around the
drain plug.
4.
Place a drain pan beneath oil
tank.
5.
Remove the drain plug.
Allow the oil to drain com-
pletely.
6.
Install a new sealing washer
on the drain plug.
NOTE:
The sealing surfaces on
drain plug and oil tank
should be clean and free of
burrs, nicks or scratches.
7.
Reinstall the drain plug.
Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
