Park Brake Lever FEATURES AND CONTROLS To help prevent the vehicle from rolling, engage the park brake when parking the vehicle. When the park brake is fully engaged and the park brake indicator is illuminated, engine speed is limited to 1300 RPM in all gears, including neutral. If throttle is applied, this limiting feature prevents operation, which protects the park brake pads from excessive wear. This feature will not operate properly if the park brake connector or switch (under the hood) malfunctions or becomes disconnected, or if the switch has moved. Check for disconnection, then see your dealer promptly if this feature fails to operate properly. Inspect and adjust park brake cable tension after the first 25 hours of operation and every 100 hours thereafter to ensure proper cable tension. See page 87. Always apply the service brakes Park Brake before engaging or releasing the Release park brake. 1. Apply the brakes. 2. Pull the park brake lever downward as far as possible. 3. To release the park brake, apply the brakes. Press the park brake release inward and move the lever upward as far as possible. WARNING Operating the vehicle while the park brake is engaged could cause loss of control and result in serious injury or death. Always disengage the park brake before operating the vehicle. 37

Park Brake Lever

2.

downward as far as possible.
3.
To release the park brake,
apply the brakes. Press the
park brake release inward
and move the lever upward as
far as possible.
