MAINTENANCE Gearcases Rear Gearcase Always check and change the rear gearcase oil at the intervals outlined in the Periodic Maintenance Chart beginning on page 59. Refer to the Gearcase Specifications Chart on page 67 for recommended lubricants, capacities and torque specifications. See page 108 for the part numbers of Polaris products. The rear gearcase fill plug is on the driver's side of the rear gearcase. Oil Check The easiest way to check for adequate oil in the 6X6 is to drain and refill the gearcase to capacity (see page 67). Perform the oil change as outlined below. Fill Plug Oil Change 1. Remove the fill plug. Drain Plug 2. Place a drain pan under the drain plug. Remove the drain plug. 3. Drain the oil. Dispose of used oil properly. 4. Clean the drain plug. Reinstall the drain plug. Torque to specification. 5. Add the recommended oil. 6. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to specification. 7. Check for leaks. 72

Gearcases
Rear Gearcase
Always check and change the rear gearcase oil at the intervals outlined
in the Periodic Maintenance Chart beginning on page 59.
Refer to the Gearcase Specifications Chart on page 67 for recommended
lubricants, capacities and torque specifications. See page 108 for the
part numbers of Polaris products.
The rear gearcase fill plug is on the driver's side of the rear gearcase.
Oil Check
The easiest way to check for ade-
quate oil in the 6X6 is to drain and
refill the gearcase to capacity (see
page 67). Perform the oil change
as outlined below.
Oil Change
1.
Remove the fill plug.
2.
Place a drain pan under the
drain plug. Remove the drain
plug.
3.
Drain the oil. Dispose of used oil properly.
4.
Clean the drain plug. Reinstall the drain plug. Torque to specifica-
tion.
5.
Add the recommended oil.
6.
Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to specification.
7.
Check for leaks.
