OPERATION Hauling Cargo Your POLARIS vehicle has been designed to carry a specific capacity. Reduce speed and allow a greater distance for braking when carrying cargo. Loads should be centered and carried as low as possible in the box. For stability on rough or hilly terrain, reduce both speed and cargo. Exercise caution if the cargo load extends over the side of the box. Always read and understand the load distribution warnings listed on warning labels and in this manual. Never exceed the maximum capacities specified for your vehicle. See page 128. Belt Life To extend belt life, use low gear in the following conditions: • when hauling or towing heavy cargo. • when consistently operating at speeds less than 35 MPH (56 km/h) in hard-pulling terrain, such as mud, rocks or sand/dune environments. 65
