Air Cleaner Refer to the Maintenance Schedule to determine when to replace the air filter. See "Scheduled Maintenance Services" the Index. in Operating the engine with the air cleaner can off cause you or others to be burned, Theair cleaner not only cleans the air, it stops flame if the engine backfires. I it isn't there, and theengine f backfires, you could be burned. Don't drive with it off, and be careful working on the engine with the air cleaner off. The air cleaner is located on the driver's sideof the engine compartment. 1. Remove the screwsthat hold the cover on. 2. Lift off the cover. 3. Reinstall the air cleaner filter and replacethe cover tightly. I NOTICE: If the air cleaner is off, a backfire cancause a damaging engine fire. And, dirt caneasily get into your engine, which willdamage it. Always have the aircleaner in place when you'redriving. 6-16
