PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT EWA10461 EAU21960 TIP These limits may be different by regulation from country to country. If so, conform to the limits specified by the regulations of your own country. EWA10580 WARNING The front and rear tires should be of the same make and design, otherwise the handling characteristics of the vehicle may be different, which could lead to an accident. After extensive tests, only the tires listed below have been approved for this model by Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. Front tire: Size: 130/90 16M/C 67H Manufacturer/model: DUNLOP/D404F X BRIDGESTONE/EXEDRA G721 Rear tire: Size: 170/70B 16M/C 75H Manufacturer/model: DUNLOP/K555 BRIDGESTONE/EXEDRA G722 G Cast wheels To maximize the performance, durability, and safe operation of your vehicle, note the following points regarding the specified wheels. G The wheel rims should be checked for cracks, bends or warpage before each ride. If any damage is found, have a Yamaha dealer replace the wheel. Do not attempt even the smallest repair to the wheel. A deformed or cracked wheel must be replaced. G The wheel should be balanced whenever either the tire or wheel has been changed or replaced. An unbalanced wheel can result in poor performance, adverse handling characteristics, and a shortened tire life. G Ride at moderate speeds after changing a tire since the tire surface must first be "broken in" for it to develop its optimal characteristics. WARNING G G It is dangerous to ride with a worn-out tire. When a tire tread begins to show crosswise lines, have a Yamaha dealer replace the tire immediately. The replacement of all wheeland brake-related parts, including the tires, should be left to a Yamaha dealer, who has the necessary professional knowledge and experience. 7 Tire information This motorcycle is equipped with cast wheels and tubeless tires. 7-18
