Recording on a tape manually - Manual Recording You can record just the portions you like from a CD, tape or radio program on a tape. You can also record from connected components (see "Hooking up optional components" on page 30). Use buttons on the unit for the operation. To stop recording Press x. Notes • You cannot listen to other sources while recording. • If you press CD, TUNER BAND, TAPE or FUNCTION during recording and select a sound source different from the sound source being recorded, the recording stops. Tips 1 2 Load a recordable tape. Press FUNCTION repeatedly to select the desired source to record. • When you record on both sides, be sure to start from the front side. If you start from the reverse side, recording stops at the end of the reverse side. • For recording from the tuner: If noise is heard while recording from the tuner, move the respective antenna to reduce the noise. Tape - Recording • CD: To record from this system's CD player. • FM or AM: To record from this system's tuner. • AUX: To record from the optional component connected to the AUX IN jacks. • PC: To record from the personal computer connected to the USB port. 3 4 5 Press z REC PAUSE/START. "REC" flashes and the tape deck stands by for recording. Press DIRECTION repeatedly until g appears to record on one side or h (or j) to record on both sides. Press TAPE nN repeatedly to select recording side. If you select both sides recording or front side recording, press TAPE nN to light up the N indicator. If you record on the reverse side, press TAPE nN again to light up the n indicator. 6 Press z REC PAUSE/START, then start playing the desired source to record. Recording starts. 19GB

the desired source to record.
CD: To record from this system’s CD
player.

Tips
