When the reconstruct is completed the array is in Faulttolerant status again, and the Array icon will look like this: Replacing a Spare Follow these steps to replace a spare drive that is recognized as good by Adaptec CI/O Management Software: 1 Delete the spare. (See Deleting a Spare on page 5-17.) 1 Hot swapping support means that the array enclosure electrically isolates the bad disk's SCSI connector from the SCSI bus while the disk is being swapped to prevent data corruption. Data can still be transferred to and from the remaining good disks while the bad drive is replaced. 10-4
