Adaptec RAID Installation Guide To prevent ESD damage, follow these guidelines: I Always use an ESD wrist or ankle strap and ensure that it makes skin contact. I Connect the equipment end of the strap to an unpainted metal chassis surface. I If no wrist strap is available, ground yourself by touching the metal chassis. I When installing or removing a component, use any available ejector levers or captive installation screws to properly seat the bus connectors in the backplane or card slot.
