Equalizer Presets 10 typical equalizer settings are preset at the factory for a variety of musical source material. 1 Press MENU to select Factory's EQ (P-EQ for CDA-9830). 2 Press either IN or ►►l. With each press of the button, the equalizer mode will display the selected equalizer characteristic. Adjusting and Storing the Equalizer Curve You can modify the Equalizer settings to create a response curve more appealing to your personal taste. 1 Press and hold MENU for at least 2 seconds. 2 Press MENU to select USER'S EQ (USERS for CDA-9830). 3 Press BAND/TEL. to select your desired frequency band. BAND1 -> BAND2 BAND3 BAND4 BAND1 4 Press or ►►1 to select your desired frequency. Adjustable frequency bands: BAND1 : 40Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz BAND2 : 100Hz, 150Hz, 200Hz BAND3 : 500Hz, 700Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, 6kHz BAND4 : 10kHz, 12.5kHz, 15kHz 5 Turn the Rotary encoder to adjust the level. 6 Press SOURCE/POWER to select your desired band width (Q). Adjustable band width: BAND1 : 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, BAND2 : 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 BAND3 : 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 BAND4 : 1.0 (fixed band width) To store the adjusted curve 1) Press and hold, for at least 2 seconds, the preset buttons (1 or 2) into which you wish to store the adjusted curve. 7 To set another channel, repeat steps 3 to 6. 8 Press the Rotary encoder to confirm the adjusted contents. The adjusted contents are not stored if the Rotary encoder is not pressed. 9 After setting, press MENU to select RETURN. The unit returns to normal mode. Recalling the Stored Equalizer Curve 1 Press and hold MENU for at least 2 seconds. 2 Press MENU to select USER'S EQ (USERS for CDA-9830). 3 Press either preset button (1 or 2) to activate your desired curve. 4 Press MENU to select RETURN. The unit returns to normal mode. Pressing and holding MENU for at least 2 seconds will return to normal mode. • EQ mode is automatically canceled if no operation is performed within 15 seconds. • Thisfunction is inoperable when DEFEAT is set to ON (page 14). • You can recall the adjusted equalizer curve from "Equalizer Presets" (this page). 15 -EN
