4 Map Update To update your navigation software and its maps, you need the following: • Internet connection • An empty USB storage device To update your navigation software and its maps, perform the following steps: 1. Download and install the Toolbox PC tool on your PC. a. Go to the alpine.naviextras.com website. If you do not have a user account yet, create one. b. Click Download PC tool on the right side of the page to access the download page. c. Follow the instructions on the site to download and install the Toolbox PC tool on your PC. 2. Collect navigation device information on a USB storage device. Do not switch off your navigation system during the following process Caution! Do not remove the USB storage device until the preparation process is completed. a. Start the navigation system while your vehicle is parked. b. Insert the empty USB storage device into the USB port of your navigation system. c. Press the navigation hardkey button, and in the Navigation Menu, tap d. Tap Yes on the confirmation screen. The collection of device information starts, and a progress bar shows the status of the process. e. Wait until you receive the following message: Operation successful. You can now connect your USB stick to your computer and purchase/download the necessary contents from www.naviextras.com using the Toolbox application. Remove the USB storage device from your navigation system. 3. Download updates with the Toolbox PC tool. a. Connect the same USB storage device to your PC. b. Start the Toolbox PC tool on your PC and sign in with your Naviextras user name and password. c. Use the Toolbox PC tool to download updates and to purchase additional extras at your convenience. For instructions on using the Toolbox, see the Toolbox How-to Guides at alpine.naviextras.com/shop/portal/support. d. Once the download is complete, remove the USB storage device from the PC. 4. Perform the update on your navigation system. Do not switch off your navigation system during the following process Caution! Do not remove the USB storage device until the preparation process is completed. a. Start the navigation system while your vehicle is parked and go to any navigation-related screen. b. Insert the USB storage device that now contains the updates into the USB port of your navigation system. c. Tap Yes on the confirmation screen. 4 Map Update
To update your navigation software and its maps, you need the following:

Internet connection

An empty USB storage device
To update your navigation software and its maps, perform the following steps:
1.
Download and install the Toolbox PC tool on your PC.
a.
Go to the alpine.naviextras.com website. If you do not have a user account yet, create one.
b.
Click Download PC tool on the right side of the page to access the download page.
c.
Follow the instructions on the site to download and install the Toolbox PC tool on your PC.
2.
Collect navigation device information on a USB storage device.
Caution!
Do not switch off your navigation system during the following process
Do not remove the USB storage device until the preparation process is completed.
a.
Start the navigation system while your vehicle is parked.
b.
Insert the empty USB storage device into the USB port of your navigation system.
c.
Press the navigation hardkey button, and in the Navigation Menu, tap

Perform the update on your navigation system.
