5. When the fan and heatsink assembly is in place, connect the CPU fan cable to the appropriate connector on the motherboard, CPU_FAN1 or CPU_FAN2. CPU_FAN1 CPU FAN PWM CPU FAN IN CPU FAN PWR GND R CPU_FAN2 KFNS-D-SLI GND CPU FAN PWR CPU FAN IN CPU FAN PWM KFN5-D SLI CPU Fan Connectors • Do not forget to connect the CPU fan connector! Hardware monitoring errors can occur if you fail to plug this connector. • If there is only one CPU fan cable, connect it to the connector labeled CPU_FAN1. Failure to do so may cause hardware monitoring errors. • Before connecting the CPU fan cables, select the appropriate jumper settings for 3 pin or 4 pin CPU fan connectors. See CPU fan pin selection on page 2-22 for details. 2-12 Chapter 2: Hardware information
