The firing chamber of the pistol is the portion of the barrel into which the cartridge is fed. The firing chamber may be loaded in one of three ways: 1. LOADING FROM MAGAZINE • Check that the manual safety is engaged (FS models only - Fig. 6a / 6b). • Push the loaded magazine into the pistol grip completely to insure catch engagement. • Pull back the slide and release it. The slide will automatically pick up a cartridge from the top of the magazine and feed it into the chamber (Fig. 27). 2. DIRECT CHAMBER LOADING • Check that the manual safety is engaged (FS models only Fig. 6a / 6b). • Pull open the slide. The slide remains open when an empty magazine is inserted or the slide catch is pressed upwards. • Insert a round into the chamber (Fig. 28). • Press the slide catch to close the slide (Fig. 30). ! WARNING: FS MODELS ARE NOW CHAMBER LOADED, WITH HAMMER DECOCKED AND MANUAL SAFETY ENGAGED (Fig. 6b). THE PISTOL IS READY TO FIRE BY DISENGAGING THE SAFETY AND PULLING THE TRIGGER. Keep your finger away from the trigger whenever you do not intend to fire. ! WARNING: G MODELS ARE NOW CHAMBER LOADED AND COCKED. Lower the hammer rotating the decocking lever downward. The firing

• Check that the manual safety is engaged (FS models only -

• Push the loaded magazine into the pistol grip completely to

• Pull back
the slide and release it. The slide will automatically
pick up a cartridge from the top of the magazine and feed it
into the chamber (

2.
DIRECT CHAMBER LOADING
• Check that the manual safety is engaged (FS models only -
Fig. 6a / 6b
).
• Pull open the slide. The slide remains open when an empty
magazine is inserted or the slide catch is pressed upwards.
• Insert a round into the chamber (

• Press the slide catch to close the slide (

).
WARNING: FS MODELS
ARE NOW CHAMBER LOADED,
WITH HAMMER DECOCKED AND MANUAL SAFETY
ENGAGED (

). THE PISTOL IS READY TO FIRE BY
