945GC-M7 SE / 945GC Micro 775 7 PnP/PCI Configurations This section describes configuring the PCI bus system. PCI, or Personal Computer Interconnect, is a system which allows I/O devices to operate at speeds nearing the speed of the CPU itself uses when communicating with its own special components. This section covers some very technical items and it is strongly recommended that only experienced users should make any changes to the default settings. „ Figure 7. PnP/PCI Configurations Init Display First This item allows you to decide to active whether PCI Slot or on-chip VGA first. The Choices: PCI Slot (default), PCIEx, Onboard. Resources Controlled By By Choosing "Auto (ESCD)" (default), the system BIOS will detect the system resources and automatically assign the relative IRQ and DMA channel for each peripheral. By Choosing "Manual", the user will need to assign IRQ & DMA for add-on cards. Be sure that there are no IRQ/DMA and I/O port conflicts. The Choices: Auto (default), Manual. 28
