Chapter 2 BIOS Setup Typematic Rate Setting This determines the typematic rate. Enabled Disabled (default) Enable typematic rate and typematic delay programming. Disable typematic rate and typematic delay programming. The system BIOS will use default value and the keyboard controls the function. Typematic Rate (Chars/Sec) 6 (default) 8 10 12 15 20 24 30 6 characters per second 8 characters per second 10 characters per second 12 characters per second 15 characters per second 20 characters per second 24 characters per second 30 characters per second Typematic Delay (Msec) Choose the length of delay from the time you press a key and the character repeating. (units are mil-sec) The Choices: 250 (default), 500, 750, 1000. Security Option This category allows you to limit access to the system and Setup, or just to Setup. System The system will not boot and access to Setup will be denied if the correct password is not entered at the prompt. Setup (default) The system will boot, but access to Setup will be denied if the correct password is not entered at the prompt. OS Select for DRAM > 64MB Allows OS/2 to be used with > 64MB of DRAM. Settings are Non-OS/2 and OS/2. Set to OS/2 if using more than 64MB and running OS/2. Default is Non-OS2. 2-13
