Using the WLAN Interface (Optional:PA-WI-001) (TD-2120N/2130N only) For configuring wireless LAN settings, a USB cable must temporarily be used. Prepare the included USB cable. Before beginning the installation, you must know the SSID and network key of your WLAN access point/router. We cannot assist you with your network policy (or its settings). Consult with your network administrator. Please do not contact Brother Customer Service for assistance on security settings. NOTE • The SSID is required for configuring wireless settings. Network key information is also required, except in an open system (a network with no password). In addition, if WEP is used for encryption, a WEP key is required. • Finding the SSID and network key: • Since network information such as the SSID, network key and WEP key are settings customized for your environment, contact your network administrator. If you have specified the settings, refer to the manual for your WLAN access point/router. • In addition, if your wireless LAN is set to stealth mode, a connection cannot be established with the network using the procedures described here; therefore, contact your network administrator. • To see the MAC address for your printer, print its device settings. For details, see Printing the Printer Setup Information on page 19. a Before beginning the installation, you must know the SSID and network key of your WLAN access point/router. Make a note of your settings in order to remember the specified information. Refer to the following table. If the language screen appears, choose your language. NOTE • For Windows® XP/Windows Vista®/Windows® 7: If the installer screen does not automatically appear, display the contents of the CD-ROM drive folder, and then double-click [start.exe]. • For Windows® 8: If the installer screen does not 11 automatically appear, click [Run start.exe] in the [Start] screen, or display the contents of the CD-ROM drive folder from the desktop, and then double-click [start.exe]. c Click [Standard Installation]. d Read the license agreement, and click [Agree] if you agree with the terms and conditions. e Click [Install] to start the installation, and then follow the on-screen instructions. 95
